The “Select” custom field type allows organizations to define and manage pre-set dropdown values directly in their accounting settings. This feature is available for users on the Standard plan and higher.
Common use cases include tracking variables such as markets, campaigns, or locations; however, the flexibility of this feature allows it to be adapted to many other scenarios based on your organization’s needs.
Key Features of Pre-Set Custom Fields
Dropdown menus ensure quick, consistent, and error-free input.
Default Values: Assign a default value that is automatically applied during actions like card issuance.
Editing Options: Dropdown options can be deactivated or deleted. However, options linked to existing transactions cannot be deleted.
Search: Use the built-in search feature to quickly find specific options.
Setting Up Pre-Set Custom Fields
Once enabled, pre-set custom fields can be created and managed under Settings > Accounting.
How to Create a Pre-Set Custom Field
1) Navigate to Settings > Accounting Settings.
2) Add a new custom field by clicking the “+ Add Custom Field” button.
3) Select the “Dropdown” option.
4) Define the following field details:
Label: The name of the custom field.
Visibility: Where the field is visible within the platform.
Mandatory Options: Choose whether this field is required for exports or card issuance.
💡 Note: You can edit all attributes except field name at any time.
5) Click Save & add options to start adding allowed options
6) Add/Edit dropdown values by listing your pre-set options. You can:
Define individual values.
Set one value as the default selection (optional).
Assigning Values to Custom Fields
Values for pre-set custom fields can be assigned or updated in the following areas:
Transaction Pages: Within the cardholder and admin apps.
Card Issuance Flow: During the process of creating a new card.
Card Attributes Menu: For existing cards, you can edit the custom field values via the card attributes menu.
Integration with Accounting Systems
