Exporting transactions for Netvisor
Updated over a month ago

Pliant enables customers to export transaction data for integration with Netvisor using a file-based export system. The export format depends on whether receipts are included with the transactions.

Key Features of Pliant Export

File Types

Pliant provides two types of file exports based on whether receipts are attached to the transactions:

  1. Transactions without receipts:

    • Generates a .CSV file.

  2. Transactions with receipts:

    • Creates a .ZIP archive, which includes:

      • A .CSV file with transaction details.

      • Another .ZIP archive containing the transaction receipts.

Export Format Options

Customers can choose between two export formats for each export:

  1. Smart Excel CSV – This is the default setting.

  2. CSV – A simpler option.

Detailed Breakdown of Export Components:

1. Smart Excel CSV Format

This export generates a .ZIP archive containing the following:

  • A .CSV file with all transactional data formatted for accounting systems.

    • Includes a single header row for all transactions.

    • Each row contains transaction details such as date, amount, account number, and additional fields like cost center, cardholder, and more.

  • A .ZIP archive with individual receipt files.

    • Each transaction’s receipt is stored as a separate file.

  • A merged .PDF file that combines all receipts into one document.

    • Includes additional explanatory documents for each transaction.

2. CSV Format

This export also generates a .ZIP archive, but with a simplified structure:

  • A .CSV file containing all transactional data.

    • Unlike the Smart Excel CSV format, this file does not include a header row.

    • Includes a summary row at the bottom with the sum of all transactions.

  • A .ZIP archive with individual receipt files.

    • Each receipt is stored separately for its corresponding transaction.

Steps to import into Netvisor:

Following the successful export from Pliant, the same needs to be uploaded to Netvisor.

  • In the dashboard, go to your company dropdown, select 'Data import', choose the data type and Pliant-exported file, then click 'Submit data'.

  • Preview the file, map required fields from the Pliant export to their corresponding fields in Netvisor.

  • Assign the imported transactions to the appropriate G/L (General Ledger) Netvisor accounts based on your company’s accounting structure.

  • Click 'Save choices', then 'Import data'.
