Pliant Fee Charging
Updated over 3 weeks ago

At Pliant, we apply different types of fees based on the services an organization uses. This guide explains the fees, how they are calculated, and the invoicing process.

Types of Fees

Pliant charges three main types of fees: SaaS fees, FX fees, and Premium Physical Card fees.

  1. SaaS Fees (Subscription Fees):

Recurring monthly charges based on the organization’s subscription plan (Light/Standard/Custom). These fees are included in the monthly invoice and vary depending on the selected plan and its features.

  2. FX Fees (Foreign Exchange Transaction Fees):

Foreign exchange fees apply whenever a transaction is processed in a currency different from the card account’s default currency. For instance, if a payment is made in USD using a EUR card, it is categorized as an FX transaction.

    • A standard 2% FX fee is applied per transaction, but a special rate may apply to an organization.

    • The fee is calculated immediately upon booking the transaction.

    • Total monthly FX fees are included as a separate line item in the monthly invoice.

    • FX fees per transaction and applicable rates can be reviewed in the transaction CSV export.

  3. Premium Physical Card Fees:

Pliant also charges fees for its Premium Physical Card, which offers exclusive benefits. These fees are invoiced separately on an ad hoc basis whenever a new card is issued.

Monthly Invoice and Payment Process

At the end of each month, we generate an invoice that includes:

  • SaaS fees (subscription-based charges).

  • FX fees (total from all applicable transactions).

Invoices are charged on the 5th of the following month.

Invoices for premium physical cards are issued separately when a new card is created.

Payment Method: Virtual Platform Fee Card

All fees are deducted using a virtual Platform Fee Card that is assigned to each organization. This card is dedicated solely to covering fee payments.

  • The card is issued automatically to the first legal representative who signs the platform T&Cs during onboarding.

  • The system manages the limits on this card, preventing any external modifications.

  • If your organization has multiple card accounts, the Platform Fee Card is linked to the main card account.

  • If the main card account has insufficient funds, the charge will not go through, even if other card accounts have enough balance.
