Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation

Learn what's covered and how to file a claim for emergency medical evacuations and repatriation of remains.

  • What is covered?

    • This benefit covers necessary emergency evacuation and transportation expenses if you are injured or become ill while traveling on a Covered Trip, and also includes Repatriation of Remains coverage.

    • All evacuation arrangements must be pre-approved by the Assistance Provider in consultation with a legally licensed Physician who certifies that the evacuation is warranted.

  • What are the coverage limits?

    • You are covered for up to $100,000.00 for emergency evacuation.

    • For Repatriation of Remains, the benefit pays up to $1,000.00 to return your body to your home country of Residence.

  • What is not covered (Exclusions)?

    • Expenses that are non-emergency in nature, or travel for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment.

    • Services, supplies, or charges rendered by an immediate Family member.

    • Illness or injury suffered due to self-inflicted harm, attempted suicide, mental health care, alcoholism, or substance abuse.

    • Injuries from extreme activities like skydiving, scuba or deep sea diving, hang gliding, parachuting, and contests of speed.

    • Care received in countries determined by the U.S. Government to be unsafe for travel (such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, North Korea, etc.).

  • Who is the insurance provider?

    • This benefit is issued and managed by the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, located at 202B Hall's Mill Road, Whitehouse Station, New Jersey 08889.

How to Claim

If you have a medical emergency, call AXA immediately at 1-855-327-1414 (toll-free in the USA or Canada) or 1-630-694-9764 (collect outside the USA).

To file your formal claim, contact the Benefit Administrator at https://pliant.claimservicing.com/emergency-evac

Tip: Please reference Policy #N18135917. You must return the completed claim form within one hundred eighty (180) days of the occurrence. Be prepared to provide a physician's statement describing the need for emergency evacuation, your travel itinerary, and copies of your medical and transportation bills.
