Pliant Assistant

Getting Started with Pliant Assistant

Pliant Assistant is an AI-powered, in-app chatbot that lives inside the Pliant Admin App. It helps you get instant answers to questions about your spending data and how to use Pliant without leaving the platform or contacting support.

Note: Pliant Assistant is currently available in the Admin App and it is not yet available in the Cardholder App or in the native mobile apps.

What can Pliant Assistant do?

Pliant Assistant is designed to answer two main types of questions in natural language:

  • Spend-related questions about your transactions, cards, teams, and merchants. For example:

    • "What was my total spend last month?"

    • "Which merchants are driving the highest travel spend this year?"

  • How-to questions about using Pliant features. For example:

    • "How do I connect Pliant to my external accounting tool?"

    • "How do I set up a new card limit?"

Responses can include readable text, lists, and formatted tables so you can quickly understand the answer and copy the data wherever you need it.

Activating Pliant Assistant

Pliant Assistant can be activated through Modules:

To activate Pliant Assistant:

  1. Log in to the Admin App.

  2. Go to Settings → Modules → Pliant Assistant.

  3. Click Activate.

Once activated, the Pliant Assistant logo will appear on every page of the Admin App. Activation is set at the organization level, so the state is preserved across sessions and devices.

To deactivate Pliant Assistant:

Go back to Settings → Modules → Pliant Assistant and click Deactivate. The icon will disappear and all sessions will be disabled.

Opening the Chat Window

Once Pliant Assistant is active, you'll see a chat logo fixed in the bottom-right corner of the Admin App on every page.

  • Click the icon to open the chat window.

  • Click the icon again (or close the window) to minimize it back to the icon.

  • Expand the window to view longer responses, Financial Data & Analytics answers, and your full chat history more comfortably.

Using the Chat Window

When you open the chat window for the first time, you'll land on the Welcome View. From here you can:

  • Read a short greeting and tips on what to ask.

  • Pick from suggested prompts (for example: "What was my total spend last month?") to get started quickly.

  • See a preview of your 3–5 most recent chats for fast access.

  • Use the search bar to find a previous chat by keyword.

  • Type a new question directly into the input area at the bottom.

As soon as you start typing or send a question, the screen transitions seamlessly into the Active Chat View, where the conversation thread appears.

Working with responses

Inside the Active Chat View you can:

  • Read the answer, including any tables or lists the assistant returns.

  • Hover over a response to reveal a Copy button click it to copy text or full tables to your clipboard.

  • Rate the response with a quick "Was this helpful?" 👍 / 👎 prompt.

  • Use the Back button to return to the Welcome View, or open the Full Chat History View to browse all previous conversations.

Managing your Chat History

Pliant Assistant keeps your past sessions so you can revisit information without having to ask the same question again.

To view past chats:

  • Open the chat window. Recent chats are previewed on the Welcome View.

  • Click View all (or the History icon in the chat header) to open the Full Chat History View.

  • Each session is listed with its conversation title and timestamp, sorted by most recent.

To search past chats:

Use the search bar at the top of the history view to find a specific conversation by keyword.

To open a past chat:

Click any session in the list and the conversation will load in the Active Chat View, where you can keep the conversation going.

To delete a chat:

  1. Open the Full Chat History View.

  2. Select the chat you want to remove.

  3. Click Delete and confirm in the prompt that appears.

Deleted chats are permanently removed from your view and will no longer appear in the assistant.

Sharing Feedback

Your feedback helps us improve the quality of the assistant's answers over time.

  • After each response, you'll see a "Was this helpful?" prompt with 👍 / 👎 options. One click is enough - there's no interruption to your conversation.

  • After submitting, a brief "Thanks for your feedback!" confirmation will appear.

  • At the end of a chat, you may also see a final rating prompt covering the overall experience.

All feedback is collected anonymously and used internally to refine the assistant.
